Now it’s not going to be my generation. It’s going to be the young people who get enthusiastic about this paradigm of neurophenomenology and realise that they themselves have to acquire that learning. So then in the next generation these competences can be combined.

EVarela Award cycle 2019
The application period will run from 29 November - 20 December 2019. The awardees will be announced at the end of March 2020.
To be eligible for an European Varela Award (EVA), the applicant must have attended the European Mind & Life Summer Research Institute in the last five years or have participated in this year's CSS and MLE Retreat.
EVA application criteria:
- Completed application form (download here): includes research proposal and budget
- Project Summary/Abstract (250 words maximum)
- Applicant’s and study team members’ abbreviated CVs or NIH-style biosketches (limit 4 pages each)
- Two letters of recommendation submitted with online application. Letters should speak to the ability of the applicant to perform the proposed research and his/her potential to develop a fruitful program of research and contribute to the growing field of contemplative sciences.
